Atsede Fantahun Aregay

Associate Professor

Atsede Aregay is an Associate Professor at the Department of Health and Nursing Sciences, University of Agder, Norway. She completed her PhD in a Doctor of Philosophy with a specialization in palliative care nursing at Monash University, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Australia, in 2021 and obtained her master’s degree in Adult Health Nursing and bachelor’s degrees in Nursing from Addis Ababa University and Hawassa University, respectively in Ethiopia.

In 2020, she was the finalist of a three-minute thesis competition at Monash University for her research in palliative care. In 2021, she worked as a Sessional Teaching Associate and casual Research Assistant at Monash University. She has more than 10 years of teaching experience for diploma, bachelors and postgraduate nurses and midwives in Ethiopia. She also engaged in research and community service as part of her teaching role and served as a member of the Health and Demographic Surveillance project in Kelte Awlalo in Tigray (2016-2017). In 2009, she worked as Head of Department at the Department of Nursing and midwifery, Mekelle University, Tigray.

Forskning

I am interested in palliative care, case study research, mixed-method research, adult health nursing, professionalism in nursing, chronic communicable and non-communicable diseases.
