Gorm Jacobsen is professor at the Department of Economics and Finance at the School of Business and Law at the University of Agder. He is Cand. Oecon. from the University of Oslo.

Jacobsen has specifically researched the transition from planning economics to market economics in Poland. His research has resulted in several scientific articles published in International Business & Economics Research Journal, Journal of Business Case Studies and Journal of International Studies. Jacobsen has held a series of lectures on the subject at various universities and at international conferences.

Jacobsen is a former Assistant Professor at Rogaland University College (now University of Stavanger). Previously work experiences include positions at the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, the Norwegian Ministry of Defense and Statistics Norway. He has also been a visiting researcher at the Warsaw School of Economics.

For a number of years Jacobsen has been a sensor at the Norwegian School of Economics, the University of Oslo and the University of Bergen. He has also been a long-time member of both the Appointments Committee and the Appeals Committee at the University of Agder.
